All-Star Game Player Ballot To Officially Start Sunday Baseball fans across the nation were invited today to pick their favorite players for the 18th all-star game, to be played July 10 in Detroits Briggs Stadium. The contest officially opens Sunday and the Chicago Tribune will serve as headquarters for the balloting. Assisting the Tribune will be 335 newspapers and radio stations in the United States, Canada, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Members of United States fighting forces all over the world are expected to participate in the voting and officials expect the total vote to hit around 4,000,000.
