I I Colonel Barker Choice In Ascot Park Feature | j Three-Year-Old Is Trying for His Sixth Win of Season Today ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 21. — With good weather in the offing j j for the week-end here a banner Friday i crowd is expected here at Ascot Park tomorrow afternoon. The nine-race program I J 1 is to be headed by the seven-furlong Cleveland Heights Purse which has at- I j tracted a field of seven middle distance j j runners. I Colonel Barker, owned by Mrs. A. Wolfe | and trained by Jimmy Price, will probably go to the pest the favorite in this event. The three-year-old son of SnaTk has been a winner five times this season in 11 trips to the post which points him out as the one to beat. In his only race over the local track he came from well off the pace to capture a length decision over Holy Cats at six and one-half furlongs on a good track. Jimmy Baird rode the gelding that afternoon and is expected to have the mount again tomorrow. Colonel Barker also holds victories at Lincoln Downs and Sunshine Park. A first time starter at the meeting, Louis Pascals Rising Temper, is expected to pro- vide most of the opposition to the Wolfe colorbearer. Rising Temper checks in hero with excellent credentials from Fort Miami where the Wildlife mare won two raceSi She is to be ridden by Freddy Kratz. one of the leading riders at Ascot. Grand One comes into this race off J% winning effort scored on May 11, when hel defeated Mr. Fixit after a bitter stretcl- duel.
