Ont, May 21. — The local racing scene shifts to Woodbine Park, Canadas premier race course tomorrow. The session at the historic easj end track will be a lengthy one of 35 days, coming to a conclusion on Dominion Day July 1. Since last autumn, many changes have taken place at the Dominions most beautiful horse park. They are far too many to enumerate here but in all instances the innovations were made for the convenience of the wagering public. Like previous spring meetings at thtr O. J. C. the impending session will be highlighted by the Queens Plate, the country. most coveted turf prize. The oldest fixturs run continuously on this continent, wil have its 94th running on Tuesday, June 2M Coronation Day. This years gallop for thei guineas carries a guaranteed value of 0.-000 and at this moment E. P. Taylors outstanding filly Canadiana is an overwhelming choice for honors. Most clos * observers believe that no more than a dozen three-year-olds will try to matcii strides with Canadiana over the trying mile and one furlong contest. There are actually hundreds of thoroughbreds slated to make their first appearance of the season under silks at the Woodbine? meeting. Of these, a large number are two-year-olds and the baby racers will be afforded every opportunity to show their wares. According to this springs workout tab, this years crop of Canadian-foalert juveniles is faster than ever. The Daily Double will again be in vogue, constituting the first two races each day. Post time for the first race each afternoon has been set for 1:30 p. m. The opening feature, the Highlanders Handicap is far and away the best race carded this season.
