Royal Vale Has His Speed In Trial for Metropolitan BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I„ N. Y.. May 21. — Mrs. Esther duPont Weirs English star, Royal Vale, showed abundant speed this morning when he stepped five furlongs in :59%, accomplishing the move with something in reserve. Royal Yale is a probable starter in Saturdays Metropolitan Mile, in which he is second highweight to Tom Fool with 127 pounds. The invader seems to have lost none of his speed while winning such distance races as the Gallant Fox and Dixie Handicaps in his last two starts. His fractions this morning were :34*~. and : 473.1. C. Y. Whitneys Cold Command, who is expected to start in the Metropolitan under 117 pounds, and finished second to Royal Yale in his last two starts, breezed five furlongs in 1:02£ this morning. King Ranchs To Market, who has never won a race on Long Island and has no stakes engaements here, again indicated that he is ready for action elsewhere. The huge son of Market Wise, stepped a half in :46% from the gate this morning, working handily and in blinkers
