MAD AGAIN broke alertly, dropped back off the pace and was outrun to the final quarter mile, loomed up on the outside and closed with a belated rush to forge to the front in the final yards. ZIPPER, close up along the inside, was steadied to prevent crowding on the far turn, rallied when roused and closed with a late rush. BOB 0 LEE, forwardly placed throughout, faltered in the final yards. SCOTCH TOWN, sluggish in the early stages, came through along the inside with a late rush. SHY SAILOR weakened after five furlongs. FALL FESTIVAL forced the pace and tired. EXPECTANT, forwardly placed on the extreme outside, flattened out for the drive. MY HONEYBEE was unable to keep up. STAKEPOINT was taken up sharply at the start and showed nothing. ZACA PRIZE was taken up sharply leaving the gate, raced very wide throughout and was never a factor. LITTLE COLLEEN worked her way up between horses from a slow start to enter contention on the final turn, came inside for the drive and was along to outfinish FIGHTING HOME. The latter, close up while forcing the pace, assumed command when ready, but was not good enough. ODDS ADVANCE assumed command before a quarter mile, drew out along the inside, shortened stride before a half mile and was tiring at the end. EMPTY POCKETS closed gradually from off the pace. COTTON BUD weakened. HIGH JACKIE was unable to keep up. LUSDORE went evenly. COOKIE K showed nothing. WARRENS GRAY bled badly and was eased in the stretch. PLUTUS moved to the front at once, was steadied while saving ground, responded readily when roused and held his advantage under stout urging. SEVEN PILLARS worked his -way up on the outside, unleashed a late rally and was catching the leader. MODEL KING moved in close attendance of tbe leader entering the stretch, but was unable to make up ground in the final sixteenth. MIDNIGHT QUEEN rushed boldly to enter contention and lacked a late rally. FRED G. found room between horses on the final turn, then weakened. SIRENS RING had no mishap. FREE NECHE rushed boldly to take command before a half mile and had nothing left at the end. MINSI closed ground on the extreme outside. KERRYTZA had no mishap. WAR TORO saved ground to no avail.
