ATTRACT was well up in the early stages and, coming with determination in the stretch, passed DEEP MARGIE and had enough left to hold JUDGE JOE G. The latter was outrun to the stretch, then moved strongly on the outside through the stretch and was gaining on the winner. DARLIN* ANN was a good contender early and saved ground in the stretch, but tired DEEP MARGIE had good early speed and went strongly for five furlongs, then started to weaken.*-MAMBO made up considerable ground in the stretch. OFF AT 2:35 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. V/on driving; second and third the same. DOUBLE BARREL was always within striking distance and coming strongly in the middle of the track through the stretch, got to the front near the finish and had enough left to hold RIOT. The latter lacked early speed and failed to loom as a contender until after the stretch was reached, then closed strongly and was gaining rapidly. LADOLEE also improved his position in the stretch and was racing well at the end. BIDANDMADE set the early pace and continued well after being headed by FAIRN SQUARE. RUSSELL TS weakened in the last sixteenth. FAIRN SQUARE tired. The others were outpaced. TEN LIES went to the front at once and evenly handled, withstood several mild bids from NEXT OPTION to hold the latter to the end and win under mild pressure. NEXT OPTION was closest to the leader all the. way and went steadily to the end to be easily best of the others. SIXTY TWO saved ground nearing the stretch turn to reach contention. SEA RIPPLE followed the pace closely under light rating, then moved up in the stretch and, finishing fast, caught RED SPEED near the end. WHIRL AWHILE was outrun early and went wide in the stretch, but closed fast and gamely. RED SPEED had good early speed _ and drew away from the field after going a quarter to enjoy a good advantage in the stretch, but was unable to cope with the first two. RUTHIE S. went to the front at once to open a good lead and increased advantage nearing the stretch turn, but was not .good enough for the winner, although clearly best of the others. PONDERING was not too badly outrun in the first half mile and came strongly after entering the stretch to be up to take command near the finish. VICI ADMIRAL was close to SUNSET STAR while the latter was making the pace and made a good run when ready in the stretch : to get to the front, but was unable to resist the winner. DIXIE SPY was unable to keep up with the pace and went rather wide in the stretch but was going well at the finish. SUNSET STAR showed good speed in pace-making but weakened in the stretch. SAINT SARAZEN" was close enough early but lacked the necessary finishing * power. GALLANT ANSWER had some early speed. TULSA was slow to get in stride but gained gradually and getting through next to the rail entering the stretch, closed steadily to take command and hold THIRD LADY. The latter was badly outrun in the first part but made up much ground when too late. MACHIGONNE i was always a fairly good contender and finished steadily. QUEENS REGRET had good early speed but "weakened in the stretch. TOP SPINNER closed much ground from a slow start. FAITHFUL RING and GLADFOOTE had early speed. SUNNYBROOK SUE v/as some distance back of the pace- setters in the first part, but saved ground in the stretch to find openings and forging to the front of OAK RIVER near the end, won in a drive. OAK RIVER was never too far from the pace and took a short lead in the r stretch, but was unable to resist the winner and just lasted to hold FINE FETTLE. The latter made a good move after entering the stretch and was going gamely at the end to finish in a dead-heat with OAK RIVER. DOWN YONDER went evenly.
