GOLDEN SUN, in close attendance to the pace, wrested command in midstretch and held PRO-BRANDY safe. The latter broke tardily, was a distant trailer for a half mile and closed with a rush while altering his course. COSMIC FORCE was formidable throughout and weakened only slightly. SOFT DAY lacked his usual early speed, loomed a threat in the early stretch and weakened. CONNIE CASEY displayed speed into the stretch, lacked room to move through on DR. EUGENE J. and failed to respond when eased off the rail. LUCKY GEORGE could not keep pace. DR. EUGENE J. set the pace and stopped badly through the stretch. BLUE RAY was through early.
