TRAYMORE IN FRONT Easily Captures Kenton Hotel Purse at Churchill Downs Two in a Row for Respess Racer Majority of Favorites FavoritesSuccessful Successful LOUISVILLE Ky May 27 Traymore fouryearold son of Sweep On Munition which races in the interest of J B Rome Respess easily won the Kenton Hotel Purse worth J1700 the feature of todays racing program at Churchill Downs This race was over the distance of one mile and sev ¬ enty yards and five met with the winner the most favored Jockey S Griffin was astride the winner and he rode him in perfect fash Ion In the early stages he was hemmed in on the rail without an earthly chance to Kit through but Griffin bided his time until after turning for home when he figured he would have a better chance to get in the clear Making the last turn Traymore was still close in so Griffin decided to pull up instantly and go around his small band of rivals This worked to perfection and it was not long until he was in command of the situation The finish found him one length in front of Huntsman with Buck third Giblon and J aveen brought up the rear in the order named The early stages found Giblon dominating the running and then Buck and Huntsman began to fight it out There was nothing to it however when Griffin finally decided to make his move This marked two wins in a row for Traymore TraymoreIDEAL IDEAL DAY FOR KACIXG KACIXGAnother Another ideal day for racing prevailed and the program was made ifp of evenly matched fields The departure of so many horses for other parts left the fields small but the speculators were benefited by this as a ma ¬ jority of the choices won wonBroornster Broornster Derringer and Payman win ¬ ners of the first three races were the most favored while Happy Top the choice for the fourth finished a close second and the winner Muldoon was well Avagered upon Traymore was oddson choice for the fifth fifthProomster Proomster managed to win the opening race by a narrow margin from Mally Jane which led most of the way Speckled Beauty jjot the short end of it Broomster was out ¬ run in the early stages while Mally Jane set the pace but after straightening away for the run through the stretch jockey Donald I eal went to work with a vengeance on the winner and got him up Speckled Beauty met with a lot of bad luck but still finished fast fastDILLEAS DILLEAS GOOD IUDIXG IUDIXGUnder Under the skillful guidance of jockey J Dillea who has been on the ailing list for several weeks Derringer bearing the silks of R S Clark and trained by Jack Baker won the second race which was for twoyear old colts and geldings Bewithus a first starter from the Idle Hour Stock Farm Stable landed in second place while Prevail was third The latter showed the most early speed but raced greenly as did Bewithus Dearborn again encountered tough luck and never had a chance chancePayman Payman and jockey R Finnerty proved a winning combination in the third race but the S A Cowen representative had none too much to spare over Lady Von at the end his margin being only a head Eager wis third The first part of it found Widgeon dominating the running but turning for home lie began to shorten his stride and Payman went to the front The latter was given a hard ride by Finnerty and this was respon ¬ sible for his victory victoryMuldoon Muldoon grabbed off the fourth race in a driving finish with Happy Top second while The Runt was third Going to the post Muldoon appeared to be sore but im ¬ mediately after the barrier went up he settled down to running and turning for home dis ¬ posed of Clarice R which set the early pace The change in riders on Happy Top worked wonderfully well Jockey 10 Benham almost won with him Dry Moon ran far below his true form formThe The Shady Brook Farm Purse named in compliment to Theodore E Muellers breed ¬ ing establishment just above the city limits resulted in an upset when May fair J N Camdens daughter of Light Brigade Rima won in easy fashion from Malvina B and Uarbara This race was for Kentucky Oaks oligibles and nine answered the call Jockey William Garner was astride the winner and lie kept her well up all the way She wore down Asinia and Malvina B and at the fin ¬ ish was going away This marked the first win for young Garner since he lost his ap prentice allowance Wednesday He is riding I in brilliant form now Florence Mills and Lakme of which much was expected both tired badly in the race raceJockey Jockey Willie Garner lost his apprentice allowance Wednesday and in future he will ride without the apprentice allowance
