1 LOUISVILLE TURF NOTES 1 e : j Doris Jean, Westy Hogan mare owned by Jake Lowenstein, is mothering her first foal. The youngster, a bay filly by High Cloud, arrived at Howard Oots farm several days ago. Doris Jean goes to Cohort this season. William Irvine, who has William E. Schmidts Superior Stable here, hadnt visited Churchill Downs in nearly twenty years until he motored into the South Louisville course a few days ago. "I was working for Mose Goldblatt when last here and, I believe, it was about twenty years ago," said Irvine, who has successfully handled several large stables since that time. Confirmation of names for the two-year-olds which William K. Knebelkamp has at Churchill Downs, under former jockey Tommy Murray, was received Monday. They are Treasury, bay filly, by Cyclops Quick Money; Thumbs Down, bay gelding by Midway Sentimental; Taipan bay gelding by Cyclops Bunt; Line Drive, chestnut gelding, by Midway Sweet Liberty and Emileo, bay colt, by Sun Pal Lady vAstor. Negotiations for the purchase of W. TL. Coes Derby eligible Bluebeard have been dropped by Mrs. R. B. Fairbanks, racing devotee of Indianapolis. Mrs. Fairbanks, however, has not given up the idea of aquir-ing a worthwhile representative lor the race. Her trainer, Art Goldblatt, is reported after a price on at least one other eligible. George Chancellor, former owner-trainer, has arrived and will remain through the entire spring meeting. Another addition to the jockeys list is Ray Yelton, Covington, Ky., boy. He galloped several horses for Jake Lowenstein Tuesday morning. Jockey Dublin Taylor, who suffered a severe ankle fracture in a riding mishap at New Orleans, is fast getting himself into condition and should resume riding here. Mrs. Payne Whitneys Plat Eye and Mrs. W. S. Kilmers Sun Fairplay are the other eastern Derby nominess doing everything asked of them, according to word received at Churchill Downs.
