I CANADIAN TURF NOTES | $ 1 TORONTO, Ont., June 1. Mortimer Mahoney and his assistant, E irl Walden, left for Montreal Thursday to look over the mutuel plant at Blue Bonnets. They will proceed from there to Ottawa to got their department in readiness for the opening cf that meeting, which is scheduled to begin Wednesday. Before shipping from Maryland, W. W. Loney had the two-year-old Lightfoot Boy unsexed. W. Irvine acquired the plater Alex Wood-liffe via the claiming route Wednesday, when he took him from Mrs. H. D. Cox lor ?2,500. I. Kaplan was an arrival from Aurora, and Charles Ferraro got in from Montreal. The latters horses were shipped from Montreal to Ottawa, Kaplans horses are at Thorn-cliffe. G. W. Norvell, secretary at Long Branch, has sent out a notice to the horsemen who intend racing at the Long Branch meeting to secure their orders for stalls. Norvell is in the paddock at Thorncliffe every afternoon.
