GRENIEK. reserved off the early pace, moved up steadily when rounding the turn, secured racing room between the leaders and, finishing gamely under pressure, wore EBUFORD down to get up in tka last twenty yards EBUFORD rushed around his oi poneuts leaving the half-mile mark, assumed a good lead, saved ground and held on with good courage when forced to a drive. ANACONDA, forward!? placed, continued with good courage. DUNKIRK saved ground all the way, made a serious challenge entering the home stretch, but finished behind ANACONDA and had to ease up sharply nearing the finish. CHANNTNG L. was not rushed in the early racing and, responding with good speed for the final struggle, wore the leaders down gradually and was drawing clear at the end. MALCOLM forced a good pace, made a determined challenge reaching the stretch, but tired in the final strides. WATKINSON disnlayd good speed, saved ground and held on well. The latter raced under restraint while racing wide, lost ground on both turns and, finishing fast, was wearing the winner down rapidly. SIR HARRY met with repeated trouble while racing on the inside. BED PATE was blocked turning into the back stretch: went to the outside when making his effort, reached the leaders, but tired at the end. LACTARIUS set a good pace and held on well when challenged.
