S1PNEY W. showed keen early speed, saved ground and fought it out gamely. WILLOW began tiring in the Ian quarter. KECLLAR BROOM bore out all the way. QUEEN GORIN raced extremely wide throughout. FAIR JIMMIE, outpaced for the first three-eighths, reached contention by saving ground: sprinted into a long lead when the leaders boie out on the turn and came away rap.dly at the end. ORE unproved his poi-iliou in the final stages, but could not menace the winner. SIR STANLEY had good speed from the start, but bolted entering the stretch and lost all chance. GALLANT SPARK raced evenly. FINAL had to be ea*ed back when SIR STANLEY bolted. He was unable to get into contention thereafter.. THE DETECT1VK was never a factor. LANNIE. appearing to sulk in the early stages, moved up fast approaching the turn, made a wide turn into the stretch, gained a brief lead, but lost ground and tired right at the end. ALITA ALLEN dropped far out of contention, but closed a big gap and was going fastest nt the end. BLlE FLAi was usid up racing with JAVAN. FOREHEAD worked her way up steadily on the outside, reached the leaders on the turn into the home stretch; was inclined to bear in to the inside, then withstood a drive in fautless fashion and wae slowly drawing clear at the end. CRECY, rated well up. secured racing room on the inside to reach the pacemaker: was kept under severe urging, hut was in trouble when pocketed between GRAB BAG-and FORLHLAD during the final eighth. GRAlt HAG. rated in front, held on grimly in the closing drive. IZKTTA finished gamely on the inside. MIDDLE TEMPLE closed a big gap. SPANISH PLY Kit quit. Overweight — Spanish Flyer, 3 pounds. FLAMINGO went to the outside while making his move, lost considerable gn mid on the stretch turn and. finishing fast, was overtaking the first two at every stride.
