FAIR CLASS WINNER MOUNT ROYAL. Que.. June 25.— The Mount Royal Handicap, offered as the feature of the second days racing of the Mount Royal meeting, resulted in a victory for the colors of Walter J. Salmon, which on Tuesday made their first appearance on an independent track in this district. Fair CbUHk five-year-old son of Fair Play, was the medium, and he took into camp a good lot of platers going a mile. N. Fouhy had the mount. Billy Baughn hung on to the second, while Hobcaw, after being used up in an effort to get a commanding lead, lasted to De third. For the first time here this season the weather conditions were adverse to racing. Downpours in the morning turned the track into mud and slop. It was Ladies Day, but the cloudy weather of early afternoon kept many away, so that the management decided to have another day for the ladies on Wednesday.
