CANADIAN TURF NOTES f o — Billy Kelly, In charge of the jockeys room, reported that fifty-four riders, a record number, were registered there. Among the more notable arrivals was Willie Curran. who rode William T. to victory in the Windsor Hotel Cup Handicap renewal at Blue Bonnets Saturday. News of the death of Riley Hern, which occurred at his home here Monday morning, cast a gloom over many fans. Hern had many friends among racing people and the once great jockey was generally on hand when in good health.
