| CANADIAN TURF NOTES ~T HAMILTON. Ont., June 26. Fourteen cars were needed to transport the army of thoroughbreds that came down from the recent meetings in Montreal. No casualties were heard from the shipment which arrived in good time. For the first time on the C. R. A. tracks bridle numbers were used on the various starters, and the innovation proved popular with racing fans. Channing L., which has been a consistent performer on the Canadian tracks this season, changed ownership after finishing second in the fifth race Monday, when he was secured via the claiming route by J. K. Small-man for his entered price of ,000. Tuesday night Kelly and starter George Palmer made a hurried departure for Devonshire. Jack Iludgin will do the starting here in place of Palmer. The second claim of the present meeting was filed in the sixth race when Sam Hessel-tine, represented by Middle Temple, secured Crecy for ,230 from the Queen City Stable.
