PLATERS MONOPOLIZE CARD Cheaper Grade of Horses Furnish FurnishSport Sport at Riverside Weather WeatherGood Good But Track Heavy KANSAS CITY Mo June 5 A series o claiming races made up todays program at Riverside with no outstanding feature VVhile the weather was ideal for the sport severe storms Wednesday left the track in a heavy condition though it was drying out rapidly While it was a day for the plater some interesting sport resulted Seven juveniles faced the barrier in the four furlong race which was under claiming conditions J Christians Lucky Prospero was the winner from J Hayes Gussie Pool with G F Jenkins Crooning a previous win ¬ ner here taking the short end of the purse Crooning which was backed into favoritism was the first to show after the start closely followed by Lucky Prospero with Gussie Pool racing in third position Lucky Pros ¬ pero was kept on the inside in the heaviest going but saved much ground while Crooning was in the middle of the track in the better going The winner saved ground while as ¬ suming the lead on the stretch turn and drew away from Crooning and had enough in re ¬ serve to hold Gussie Pool safe The latter finished with good courage in the final eighth to take second place from the tiring Croon ¬ ing Politian Lake another that was well thought of raced greenly after beginning slowly slowlyDr Dr J A Blackwell the Texas breeder sup ¬ plied the winner of the second race which was over the five and onehalf furlong route Goldair a first time starter scored an easy victory over the nine that started The win ¬ ner followed the early pace closely under slight restraint to the lower turn where he wore down Easter Seth and drawing away won easily by five lengths Easter Seth was the one to finish second while Elrods Gleam ¬ ing Star accounted for the minor share Qf Jhe purse
