THRILLING FINISH AT OTTAWA Darksini Wins in Seagram Stable Colors in Final Strides of Con-naught Parks Feature. OTTAWA, Ont., June 9.— Eight well-matched sprinters furnished the contention in the Aylmer Claiming Purse, considered the event of importance for todays program at Connaught Park. The race brought about a spectacular finish in which Darksini, carrying the silks of the Seagram Stable, won from R. G. Narelles Roseomar. P. J. Miles Stern Chaser was a driving third, to lead home T. W. Gormans Captains Girl and the four others of a good grade. The Aylmer Claiming Purse was offered third on a well-balanced card, and following a delay of six minutes, the field got away in perfect alignment, and it was Captains Girl that took up the pacemaking burden. Zaidee was the one to chase after the Gorman filly, while Roseomar, Dick Weidel and Darksini raced along in near pursuit, and just leading the three others. Approaching the turn for home, Zaidee dropped back, but Roseomar gave the Gorman filly little time to get a second breath. Darksini had also moved up to join the pair as McGinnis saved ground with the Seagram racer. Thereafter it was a thrilling struggle, with Darksini finishing resolutely to get the verdict in the final strides. Roseomar saved second by a length, with Stern Chaser a fast traveling third. Threatening overhead conditions had little effect on the attendance for the semi-final day of the Connaught Park Spring meeting, and some excellent entertainment was furnished. For the second successive day racing took place over a muddy track, and only racers partial to the footing started during the afternoon. +
