The device, which was taken apart when shipped from Churchill Downs, will be used for schooling purposes a week before the opening of the meeting. John Daniels journeyed to Frankfort to inspect the yearlings of C. Bacharach, at Silver Lake Farm. They will be sent to the Kentucky Association course July 1, and Charles Dodson has been engaged to break them. Several of the youngsters will be in the large shipment Daniels will take to winter racing at New Orleans, while others will remain in Kentucky until he returns next Spring. Old Jefferson, a son of Polymelian and Wise Martha, which the Southland Stable named for the Cincinnati Trophy, breezed five-eighths in 1:06% after turning the quarter in :25% and the half in :51%. Smith Baker motored to Lexington to inspect the yearlings that Col. R. L. Baker intends taking up in the next two weeks. They will be quartered at the Kentucky Association course, and, according to Baker, the son of Fluzey is a fine looking individual. Cliff Porter visited Lexington over the week-end to confer with Tom Young in regard to future plans for two two-year-olds he sent to Bainbridge Park last week. Tom Sanfotd motored to Sanford, "Pop" Lynes Jessamine County breeding establishment, Sunday to inspect the yearlings there, the property of the Brown Hotel Stable. Robert West has arranged to take up the five yearlings he has at Kenton Farm July 1. The youngsters will be broken at the Kenton County Farm and then sent to the Latonia course at the conclusion of the coming meeting. According to track superintendent Charles Nolte there are eighty horses now quartered at Lexington that will be shipped here this week, while 100 will arrive from Churchill Downs and Douglas Park. Cliff Porter returned from Lexington, where he went to confer with several breeders in regard to breaking their yearlings this summer. Porter has several offers for his services and he is undecided whether to continue a public stable. John T. Early, a lifelong friend and business associate of Charles Bacharach, was a visitor at the latters Southland Stable. He chose a good morning, for trainer Johnny Daniels breezed a majority of his charges, much to the gratification of Mr. Early. Tommy Murray, who has been riding in his best form this spring, paid a visit to his Latonia home and will return to Washington Park in time to ride one of the two juveniles Joseph Leiter starts in the two-year-old stake at that course Saturday. Maurice Galvin, vice-president of the Latonia Jockey Club, was at his office at the track and took personal charge of the improvements to be made before the opening of the meeting. Mr. Galvin intends to be at his desk daily until Col. Matt Winn, executive director, arrives after the conclusion of the Washington Park meeting.
