WASHINGTON PARK NOTES T e i HOMEWOOD, 111., June 9. The George Collins stable, in charge of P. W. Fletcher, is returning to Latonia for the meeting. Trainer Milo Shields of the John Marsch stable, believes that he has a good Latonia Derby and Cup prospect in Chief John, son of Sir John Johnson and The Reaper, and the colt may accept for the Derby on the opening day of the coming meeting at the Covington track. Chief John is a probable starter in the American Derby. Joseph McLennan, racing secretary of the Arlington Park Jockey Club, left Tuesday for New York, where he will consult with owners and trainers of a number of the many large eastern stables coming to Arlington for the approaching meeting. He returns Monday. Condition books for the Arlington meeting will be distributed at Washington Park Wednesday. Johnny Farrell has arrived at Arlington Park with four horses, which were shipped from New York in good condition. Mose Lowenstein was an arrival from Kentucky and completed arrangements for the shipping of a dozen horses now at Douglas Park, to Arlington Park. He will transfer seven others from Lincoln Fields to Arlington. J. P. Atkins Pasadena Stable, embracing Incitout, Hand to Hand, Bud Broom, Clara-bel A., Schooner, Northampton, Syrell, Bril-lante and three two-year-olds, will be loaded for shipment to Aqueduct on Thursday. E. Hainesworth, with the horses Equation, Gracious Gift, Rahway and others, has obtained stalls at Latonia. Apprentice T. Roderick, who arrived here Monday and reported to W. Crump, had his first mount in these parts when he rode Woodlot this afternoon. James N. Crofton, general manager of Agua Caiiente, is expected here next week, at which time he will make several important announcements relative to the plans for the second annual summer meeting of fifty-seven days, to open at Agua Caiiente on July 4. Francis P. Dunne, racing secretary, expects to distribute copies of the first issue of conditions for the meeting within the next ten days, and is leaving for the coast track immediately alter the close of Washington Park. Dan Stewart, who is in charge of the racing stables of Herbert M. Woolf, may send a stable of about ten head to Agua Caiiente in charge of John Reed. The main division of the Woolf stable will be raced at Arlington Park under Stewarts direction. Robert McGarvey, acting for his employer, Stuyvesant Peabody, sold at private terms to Jack Howard, the four-year-old Polyme-lian gelding, Tombereau, which Mr. Pea-body acquired at considerable cost as a two-year-old. Tombereau goes to Latonia with the big Howard-Carreaud string. A carload of horses will leave Washington Park for Winnipeg, Can., this week. In the shipment will be Brooksie, Silver Leaf and Chub, the property of F. Sullivan; Black Beetle, King Cherokee and Snow Man, belonging to C. Shephard, and Suitor, Magnum, Orange Plume and Robert O., which will go in charge of P. Reilly. Jockey Willie Moran arrived from California and reported to J. E. Walters. He hopes to lose no time before riding at Washington Park and will remain here throughout the Chicago season. — ♦-—
