CHARLIE GENTRYS NEW POST Appointed Manager of Horse Department at John J. Raskobs Pioneer Point Farm in Maryland. LEXINGTON, Ky., June 24.— Charlie Gentry, brother of Lloyd Gentry, trainer for Harry Hatch, of Olin Gentry, assistant manager of Idle Hour Farm, of Walter Gentry at J. K. Newmans Brooknoll Farm, West Chester, Pa., and Raymond Gentry, at J. E. Widener"s Elemendorf Farm, left here this morning to take up his new duties as manager of the horse department at John J. Raskobs Pioneer Point Farm, Center-ville, Queen Anne County, Maryland. Charles Gentry has been for some time employed by Major Louie A. Beard, with the horses at the C. V. Whitney farm. Hugh Fontaine, assistant manager, today said that the place would not be filled immediately, and that he would do the work that Mr. Gentry had been doing in addition to his own work. There were expressions of regret at the young mans departure, since he is recognized as a very capable horseman. Gentry took with him three mares and three foals belonging to Mrs. Raskob, they being Forever and her bay filly, by Sir Gal-lahad III.; Lady Toney and her bay filly, by Ladkin, and Palestra and her chestnut colt by Macaw. The first named two of these mares were purchased from A. H. Cosden, and Palestra came out of the Carr and Piatt consignment to the E. J. Tranter sale last November. Mrs. Raskob also has Ebony Belle, which is now at Ellerslie Stud, and the mare and her foal will shortly be shipped from there to the farm in Maryland. ♦
