I WASHINGTON PARK NOTES fl § — $ HOMEWOOD, HI., June 24. Joey Bibb, C. C. Van Meters candidate, had his final preparation for the Latonia Derby when he worked one mile in 1:46% over the heavy course at Washington Park this morning. Barring sale of the son of Chatterton, he will be shipped to Latonia Wednesday night. Joey Bibb finished third in the American Derby here Saturday. T. P. Hayes prepared his own racers as well as those he is handling for W. S. Dudley, for shipment to Latonia tonight. The crack sprinter Ray Blades, heads the stable. Jack Howard, with one of the largest stables scheduled for racing at Latonia during the meeting opening Saturday, ships his big band Thursday night. Two cars will be used to transport the Howard-Carreaud thoroughbreds. Jockey C. Corbett and Mrs. Corbett motor to Latonia Friday. Jockey Herman Schutte left for Latonia* where he will report to the main division of the Audley Farm Stable. He rides Knights Call in the Latonia Derby Saturday. Maurice Galvin returned to Covington, Ky., after spending Tuesday going over Latonia details with Colonel M. J. Winn at Washington Park. Col. Winn plans to leave for Latonia Sunday. J. M. Reed returned from Bainbridge Park with the juvenile filly Butter Beans and older Overboard. "Butter Beans defeat at Bainbridge resulted from her dislike for the very firm racing strip," Reed said. In the absence of Charles F. Price, who entrained for LouisvUle Tuesday night, C. Bruce Head acted with Martin Nathanson and Robert Sweitzer in the stewards stand and will continue to do so for the remainder of the meeting. Judge Price goes from Louisville to Latonia Thursday. Lawrence Boganschutz, official entry clerk at Washington Park, leaves tonight for Latonia, where he serves in like capacity. A special train of eight cars is scheduled to pull out of Washington Park over the Illinois Central and Big Four for Latonia tonight. A special of seven cars went to the Covington track over the same route last night. Drillon and Buckland shipped Mailliw, Miss Joan, Parnell Boy, Laddie, Star Born, Peggy J. and Masterly to Windsor, and apprentice M. Lewis went along to do the rid-, ing. J. Redding was another of the jockeys seen here to leave for the border city. Following the close of the Washington Park meeting Francis Dunne will lose no time starting the long trip to Agua Caliente, where he is to act as racing secretary during the Coming summer meetim*.
