OFFICIAL STAFF FOR I HAWTHORNE MEETING j So as not to disturb the Hawthorne official family any more than necessary for the summer and fall race meetings, a shift in officials was decided upon Wednesday. Joseph McLennan, racing secretary and Herman P. Conkling and Willie Doyle, who serve as placing judges r "le summer meeting, are usually engaged in Maryland in October, while Francis Dunne, clerk of the scales, will be busy at Agua Caliente during the warm months. The biggest changes call for judge Conkling to move into the stewards stand during the August 2-22 meeting, to serve with Joseph A. Murphy and Martin Nathanson. At the fall meeting Messrs. Murphy and N-thnnson will serve as stewards alone. Charles McLennan, who assists his father in the racing secretarys office, will be in charge at the fall meeting, although the condition book for that meeting probably will be handled by Joe McLennan. Hawthornes summer meeting placing judges will be Joe McLennan, John Carey and Charles Henry. In the fall Sidney Brown will replace McLennan. Frank Otis has been placed at the scales. He formerly was patrol judge. Doyles position as patrol judge has been tendered Francis Dunne during the fall meeting. The other officials will remain the same, with Harry Morrissey presiding at the Bahr starting gate.
