T ARLINGTON PARK NOTES I k « ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 24. J. W. Healy, Sr., has shipped a carload of horses, the property of Mrs. F. A. Clark, from New York to Arlington Park. A La Carte from the Alton Stable will be included in a shipment of horses that C. Buxton is sending to Arlington Park. A La Carte is a candidate for the Stars and Stripes Handicap, as well as the 0,000 classic. John Loftus cancelled the reservations that he had at Arlington Park for the Barry Vail and Oak Ridge Stables. Roy Carruthers, general manager of the Arlington Park Jockey Club, has disposed of his interest in the two-year-olds Tellico and Sophist to his partner, Charles C. Van Meter, who himself owns that capable and improving three-year-old, Joey Bibb. Carruthers has too much to engage his attention as manager of Arlington Park to race horses. Tellico, a son of Chilhowee and May Lily, she by Negofol, several times a winner this season, is a colt of speed and promise. He has dates at Arlington- Park in the Hyde Park and Post and Paddock Stakes, which, very likely, he will fill. Sophist, a bay son of Waygood and Paradox, is in those races, also. Sophist won a dash of half a mile at the first asking at Lexington in April. Americana, one of the two-year-olds of the stable of William Ziegler and a Post and Paddock and Hyde Park Stakes prospect, breezed four furlongs in :54% at Arlington this morning. His stable companion, The Crane, turned three furlongs in :39%. Mrs. Zieglers highly thought of filly, General Advance, went five furlongs in 1:05%. Spinach, a four-year-old now, which won upward of 00,000 last season, mainly in revivals of the Potomac, Havre de Grace, Huron and Riggs Handicaps and the La-tonia Championship, worked three-quarters of a mile in 1:25. This son of Sir Martin and Sweet Thyme, the Ziegler hope for the impending revivals of the Stars and Stripes and Arlington Handicaps and the Arlington Cup, which Clyde Phillips has saved for Arlington racing, is in superb physical condition. Well Heeled, a winner at Belmont Park, and Watch Him, both of the stable of John Hertz, galloped half a mile together in :54%. Seven Veils, a gray daughter of Luke Mc-Luke of the same outfit went five furlongs with Frantic in 1:09. These youngsters are Illinois-bred, products of Hertz Leona Farm, which is only about twenty miles distant from Arlington Park. Buck Foremans Ned O, a prospective starter in the Inaugural Handicap, seven furlongs, which will be revived Monday, worked handily. He turned a mile in 1:57%. Leo J. Marks Morsel, another Inaugural candidate, breezed three furlongs in :38%. Roy Carruthers, general manager of Arlington Park, has word from Frank Taylor, trainer of the stable of Harry F. Sinclair, that Mokatam, the son of Bud Lerner and Katrina, which defeated Questionnaire in the Suburban, will fill his engagements in the Stars and Stripes and Arlington Handicaps and the Arlington Cup, whether anything else in the stable comes out or not. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are the days upon which steeplechase races will be run at Arlington Park.
