LEAVE DOWNS FOR LATONIA Dan Lehan and Harry Van By Ship Charges to Covington Course — Jolly Dolle Sore. LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 24.— The last of the horsemen to leave Churchill Downs after laying up their charges since the close of the spring meeting at the Louisville track, were Dan Lenan and Harry Van Ry, who shipped their strings to Latonia this morning. Lehan has the most pretentious stable, embracing the good mare Elizabeth Kennedy, Top Hattie and several others, while Van Ry is taking Roll Em Down to the Covington track. R. P. Brooks, trainer of the Derby candidate Jolly Dolle, owned by Mrs. R. P. Brooks, and her other horse, Loretta B., was forced to cancel his stalls engaged at the Covington course as Jolly Dolle still displayed soreness in his last workout over the Louisville track. The horses of Louis Kort, which have been here for some time, will not race until the meeting at Dade Park opens this summer. The three two-year-olds belonging to Judge J. P. Edwards will await the opening of the Henderson, Ky., course. John Kuprion, who held the first contract on former jockey Roscoe Goose, who is now a full-fledged trainer, reports the foaling of a bay filly on June 1 by By Hisself — Kadi-nas. This youngster, which was foaled at the farm of S. T. Ritter, near Prospect, Ky., is from the family of Carlaris, Bright Knight, Rock Man and other famous horses.
