LAT0NIA TURF NOTES ♦ • Polk Laffoon, president of the Latonia Jockey Club was at the track Wednesday-morning inspecting the several improvements being made and, combining business with pleasure, witnessed the works of the two-year-olds he has here in charge of Henry Forrest. The latter has ten two-year-olds for J. B. Respess and six older horses. The older horses are Busy Monarch, Master Singer, Busy Bright, Rose Blossom, Petite Paris and Grand Champion. Several of the two-year-olds will be sent back to Respess Highland Farm at Erlanger. R. V. Elliott arrived from Churchill Downs with Pat C, Gaffney Queen, Major Shelby, Sport Marvel and Princess Donna. Pat C. is the property of the E. J. and O. J. Stock Farm Stable, while the others will race in Elliotts name. John Daniels unloaded the Southland Stables Playtime, Pass Christian, Penanink, Wise Mona, Grecian Beauty, Faithful Hudson, Blokie, Anna Fifinel and My Hobby. They were vanned from Douglas Park, Louisville. John T. Early, prominent Cincinnati sportsman, was a visitor at the Southland Stable. John J. Troxler arrived from Douglas Park with Just Umber, Mai San, Chiltex and Lady Gibson. Miles Austin, who rode with considerable success for Howard Oots several years ago, plans a comeback to the saddle and is galloping horses daily. He expects to ask for a license at Latonia.
