SUN GROS, away quickly, remained close to the pace in the early stages and, taking the lead in tne stretch, drew out to an easy win. TELAMON, was always close up and, finishing gamely, held METAURUS safe. The latter also raced forwardly and held on well. DAUDET met earlv interference, but finished gamely. VENNIE H. tired in the stretch. THROUGH OMOND quit badly in the stretch. FLYING DS tired. FAYETTE PRINCE was shuffled back early and a trailer to the stretch, then closed a gap, but was in close quarters at mid-stretch. FETCH galloped off three-eighths before the start. BLACK COMET took the lead at once and, racing well, held sway to the end, winning handily. BACK LOG, close up throughout, was gaining slightly at the end, but did not threaten. FIDDLER was in close quarters soon after the start, but raced well thereafter. FRENCH HONEY tired. STOCK MARKET threw his rider before the start and the boy appeared slightly injured in remounting and was of little help to the gelding during the race. The others were outrun. The latter, probably best, was in close quarters early and again in the stretch, but was going resolutely at the finish. ABSOLUTION closed a gap on the outside. SPARTAN LADY also closed much ground. INDIAN MIST and UNTIMELY tired in the stretch. TWO SLIPPER could not get to the front and tired in the last eighth. DURANGO, slow to get going, was a trailer to the stretch, then came fast on the outside. DIS DAT was within striking distance of the early leaders, but failed to respond. SOPHIST and THUNDERTONE tired badly. HABANERO showed a poor performance. ASTUTE ran a good half mile, then quit. BRAVE AND BOLD was in close quarters on the far turn, but raced gamely and was best of the others. BLACKSTRAP acted badly at the barrier and was not good enough. RENEWED finished fairly well. ED LARK came gamely on the outside in the stretch, but could not get up. REJUVENATION moved up resolutely on the stretch turn, then tired. CHIP was bumped on the first turn. CORAL BEACH and NEALON KAY tired. ROY was in close quarters turning into the back stretch.
