1 TWENTY GRAND "FIRED" ] ♦- s NEW YORK, N. Y., May 25.— Despite reassuring reports of the condition of Twenty Grand and statements that the four-year-old colt owned by the Greentree Stable of Mrs. Payne Whitney would return to competition during the meeting at Saratoga Springs in August, a staff representative of Daily Racing Form learned today that the son of St. Germans — Bonus will not race for several months, if ever. Twenty Grand was fired Tuesday morning at the Greentree barn at Belmont Park. The iron was applied to the right foreleg just below the knee. The treatment was performed by Dr. McCarthy, a Philadelphia veterinarian.
