WISE KID was outrun. GRASS BROOM. MARSE CHAN, MINT DRIFT and MISS SNOW began from outside the machine. ROONEY, under restraint for the first turn of the field, moved up steadily when called upon, but could not overhaul the winner. CHERRY BRANDY, rated behind the pace, closed a gap under pressure. FAIRBANKS II. pulled up lame. FAIRY GIRL jumped well and had no excuses. IRIDESCENT tired badly.
