Tommy Aimers contract with the Thorn-: cliffe Stable expires the middle of next month. Aimers can ride at 106 pounds and is riding in exceptionally fine form at the present time. Several offers for his services have been received and it is expected he will join forces with one of the leading New York stables at the expiration of his contract. M. S. Inglerights Glenside broke his leg in the running of the last race at Long Branch Wednesday and had to be destroyed. W. Irvine vanned eight thoroughbreds, the property of S. W. Labrot. to Hamilton Friday morning from Woodbine. Six more were sent over Saturday, while the remaining three members will remain until the close of Long Branch. The string of R. S. McLaughlin, which is at present quartered at Woodbine, will remain over until the close of Long Branch and then be sent to Hamilton to await the opening of the meeting at that point. Jockey Augie Yerrat is the latest addition to the rider ranks at Long Branch. Bob Flannery, who works in the various jockey rooms throughout the country, suf- fered an injury to his spine while diving in a swimming pool at Detroit. Flannery was to leave the same night for Long Branch. He is in a hospital in Detroit at the present time. Sixty-seven riders have been issued badges at Long Branch by W. Kelly, custodian of the jockeys room. It is reported that the daily double style of wagering will be introduced at the fall meeting at Woodbine. In the absence of Harry Giddings at Con-0 naught Park, the R. S. McLaughlin string will be looked after by Dodie Howard. A microphone has been installed in the judges stand for use in case of any rulings made by the stewards. The reason for any action will be given to the fans. It will be used in instances where jockeys claim foul or when they are fined for rough riding and also in case of disqualifications. a
