t LONG BRANCH TURF NOTES ? 3 Q R. W. R. Cowies good producing mare Chrysoberil, dam of the Kings Plate winners Froth Blower and Queensway, has been mated with the R. S. McLaughlin sire, The Romp. The four Canadian-bred juveniles Rock-roma, Golidian, Cartwheel and Pepper Prince have been put back in training after having recovered from that common ailment, bucked shins. Harry Giddings, trainer of the extensive R. S. McLaughlin string, arrived Saturday morning from Ottawa. He stopped off en route to the R. S. McLaughlin farm at Oshawa to inspect the stock at that farm. Apprentice F. Maier, one of the leading riders of the off-season meeting at Havana, Cuba, was an arrival and accepted his first mount on Politen in the sixth race. E. P. Prichard vanned the string of J. R. Skinker to Dufferin Park from Woodbine. •
