Horses noted for their speed, including one holder of a worlds record and several J of track records, are among the fifty-one j thoroughbreds from which the starting field of the Arlington Inaugural Handicap will be drawn on June 27, when the Arlington A Park Jockey Club opens its thirty-day meet- ing here. The entries for the ,000 added event, at seven-eighths, closed June 1, that late date resulting in nominations only of horses racing or ready to race. _ Gallant Knight, star of the Audley Farm 1 Stable, which sped six and a quarter fur- • longs at Churchill Downs in 1:16% last spring, holds the worlds record, while an- ] other Inaugural candidate, Epithet, from the Warm Stable, set the Arlington Park mark for three-quarters at 1:10% last sum- . mer, and this spring lowered the Futurity , course record at Lexington to 1:08%. Bar j Hunter, member of E. R. Bradleys stable, j is another Inaugural entry with an Arlington record to his credit — five-eighths in 1:05. | Not all the remaining Inaugural eligibles i have established records, but all have speed and no little class. Among them is Mrs. M. B. Prices Silverdale, winner of the event . last year and the season before, while still another is George D. Wideners famous . Jamestown, with the 1930 Futurity among . his six stakes triumphs. Jamestown holds two decisions over Equipoise. Other outstanding winners this season . with the Inaugural in view include Gold Step, War Saint, War Glow, Trinchera, Spanish Play and Dr. Freeland, heroes of Chicago racing, and Masked Knight, Morsel, Pair-bypair, Pompeius, Risque. Sun Meadow and The Nut, which distinguished themselves in New York, Kentucky and elsewhere. Starters in the race will be shooting at the track record of 1:22%, held by Knights Call.
