TAKE OFF showed speed, took the lead in the final eighth, but was not good enough. JACK HOWE, quick to start and hard ridden, saved ground throughout and tired in the drive. BUSY VEN had no mishaps. JORETTA, poorly ridden and, away slowly, was rushed into contention, lost ground and tired after taking the lead. ZEUS PRINCE raced wide and showed a fair performance. BOBS LUCK quit. GRAND UNION, away fast and rated under snug restraint the first half mile, bore out slightly at the stretch turn, could not withstand the winner, but held on well. LADY JAY, brought up on the inside almost throughout, was forced back at the stretch turn and came again when, clear near the end. DARWIN had to race widej was close up after three-eighths and could not get up. WHITE COLLAR had no mishaps.
