MAY EXTEND TANFORAN MEET SAN BRUNO, Calif., Oct. 18. There is a possibility that the Tanforan meeting will be extended two weeks and possibly three. This was made known today when officials of the track stated that if they felt that the horsemen and public were in favor of more racing this fall, they might listen to proposals, to extend the meeting. The session of thirty-three days was originally slated to close October 29, but additional racing would most certainly prove a boon to horsemen now on the coast. Should the meeting close late this month, their animals would be idle until Agua Caliente opened December 25. It is probable that a committee of horsemen will wait upon the management urging an extension of the meeting, and should public sentiment seem favorable it is unlikely that Tanforan will close its gates before the middle of November.
