1 NEW YORK TURF NOTES 4 . : $ M. J. Miles has turned over Anna V. L. to Jack Richardson to train. Jockey J. H. Burke was fined 5 for disobedience at the barrier, by starter Cassidy. Joe Massageur, Cuban sports writer, who is a patient at the Presbyterian Hospital with stomach trouble, is improving steadily, according to advices from there. Brose Hoover, Schenectady sportsman, was among the arrivals and will stay for the remainder of the week. According to the dockers, the workouts at Empire City were the smallest recorded during the summer. The track was a sea of mud.
