HIALEAH PURS-. MINIMUM j VALUE TO BE 00 .... ...... . . ...,4 NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct. 18. It is unofficially reported that purses for overnight events, which last year were ,000 in value, will be reduced to 00 at the Hialeah Park meeting this winter. There will be four races of that value daily. There will be ten stakes, nine of ,500 each and the Florida Derby of 0,000. About 10,000 will be distributed among horsemen during the season. The stewards will be E. C. Smith, H. O. Vosburgh and John Cleary, representing the Florida Racing Commission. The judges will be Chris. Cornehlson, John P. Turner and Joseph McLennan. George Cassidy will be the starter, as formerly, while McLennan will be racing secretary and handicapper, assisted by his son, Charles. Mahoney again will have charge of the mutuel department, while Al Burton will be clerk of the scales, with Nelson Strang his assistant. The patrol judges are Andrew J. Leonard and Joseph Riley.
