BRIGHT DAY, slow to start and much the best, responded to strong pressure to wear down LITTLE TURTLE near the end. The latter began fastest, disposed of CHIEF DAUNT in the stretch, but could not hold the winner. CROSSKIN lost ground to the stretch. CHIEF DAUNT took the lead at once and tired after making the pace. RAGTOWN BELLE saved ground throughout. JETON quit. BELL MAN was not a factor. Scratched— 96553 The Dream, 104; 89218 Marcola, 104. THE BARD, allowed to drop back after the opening quarter, saved ground thereafter, but failed to menace the leaders. TRYABIT quit. CABAMA was eased up In the first quarter.
