The horses will be rested up for the coming meeting at Cumberland. Jockey C. Jackson has signified his intentions of going to Empire City next Saturday He will ride the horses of P. J. Fouhy at that point. L M. Carver has turned out Happy Lope Most Always and Soupcon in preparation for the half mile meetings in this territory. He will ship four horses to Fort Erie and Stamford Park when the racing ends here The J. D. Baker and C. G. Overcash strings will race at Bainbridge when this meeting terminates. They are in charge of E. Brining. J. C. Bennett has been notified that he has been allotted stalls at Empire City, and he will ship seven horses to that point when the meeting here ends. J. B. Brown, accountant for the Shenandoah Valley Jockey Club and several other tracks throughout the country, plans to take a well needed vacation in Canada at the termination of the meeting. Trainer H. L. Kerns will handle Sir Catalan and West Acton, two that Meridith Capper has shipped here for the final weeks racing. Herbert C. Smyser, general manager of the Fair at York, Penn., ha* notified William S. Seabridge of his appointment as assistant racing secretary and placing judge at the five-day meeting to be held at that point during the first week in October. Earl Walden, who has conducted the mu-tuel plant here in the absence of Mortimer M. Mahony, will join the main division of the organization at Rockingham Park at the termination of this meeting next Saturday. Key men of the organization now here will also go along. Richard Ross, clerk of the scales at York Penn., who has been in failing health lately has been removed to the South Baltimore General Hospital. The filly Brilliant Girl was excused from her engagement in Mondays third racp when the veterinarian reported that she was slightly sore.
