I DETROIT TURF NOTES ♦ - -$ J. Heagy arrived from Washington Park with six horses, the property of W. F. Mc-Candless. A. S. Lewis wired that he was bringing six horses here from Latonia for W. F. Haus-man and Houghton Brownlee requested accommodations for nine head that will come from Fairmount Park. The veteran, George Woolf, led the riders last week with eight victories to his credit. [ L. Dronet came next with seven and Tommy I Luther was third with five. Try Sympathy, winner of the Hyde Park Stakes at Arlington Park Saturday, returned here Monday morning in charge of trainer Jack Whyte. The son of Tryster was accompanied by his stablemates, Mars Palatine and Diana Victory, and C. and C. Leroy Kings Phildia. Phildia came out of his en- I gagement with a cut on his right fore leg, but trainer J. E. Fuller does not believe the injury will prevent the son of Philip from filling his engagement in the Motor City Stakes, which features next Saturdays program. According to word received from C. J. McLennan, Col. E. R. Bradley is sending his Black Helen here for the Motor City Stakes. W. J. Hirsch-shipped the public stable he is training to Arlington Park Sunday night. He has Mid Victorian, a Lassie Stakes eligible for the Warm Stable and they want the crack filly to receive her final preparation at the Chicago track. In her first and only start here she spread-eagled her opponents I and astute horsemen pronounce her one of the best juvenile prospects of the year. F. A. Carreaud loaded his stable Monday morning and it was sent to Saratoga, where it will be rested awaiting the Spa season. Maj. Thomas C. McDowell named Flying Wood for the Motor City Stakes. The daugh- ! ter of Flying Ebony is one of the nine head Major McDowell is sending here from La- ! tonia. Mrs. W. Young turned the plater My Wish I over to John Jones to train and I. Peat has j been engaged to handle Incandescent for L. i M. Biggs. Jockey W. Haber arrived from Fairmount Park and reported to W. Johnson. ! Jockey Tracy Reno arrived from Fair-mount Park and J. Mattioli, S. Hebert and F. Munden returned from Arlington Park. George Morris checked in from Latonia with First Entry and Van Diego. After spending a week at Rockingham Park, jockey A. Robertson returned Monday morning and reported to Jack Healey. Marshall Lilly shipped the division of the Greentree Stable he had here to Empire City. Jockey J. Jacobs and apprentice J. Wagner, accompanied by Guy Lunsford, their agent, left Sunday for the Yonkers track.
