TEENYA forged to the front in the early running to draw away from her field after leaving the back stretch and, never in danger, won in hand. PAT W. broke quickly, was never far from the pace and raced gamely to the end. PESO was unable to keep up in the early part and, racing very wide, was never dangerous, although making up some ground. GLENIRE tired badly. WILLAIDE lacked speed and could never reach a contending position. SUPREME LEE appeared to dislike the going. Scratched 08661 Gannonnic, 105. DODIE sprinted to the front soon after the start and, drawing into a long lead entering the stretch, won in hand. SCHOONER improved his position steadily in the last quarter and was going well at the end. PICKARD made a strong move after leaving the back stretch, but tired in the last sixteenth. BARBADOES was badly outrun to the stretch, then made up some ground, but never threatened. LITTLE TONEY was in close quarters on the far turn. EARLY STAR tired badly. Scratched 08507 Big Stuff, 109. SIR ROSE went to the front at once, appeared to tire after entering the stretch, but came again in the last eighth to win easily. ROTHERHAM cut to the rail approaching the stretch turn to save much ground and might have won had he continued on the inside, but instead was taken to the outside of SIR ROSE after entering the stretch, and was in close quarters while bearing out slightly. HOWDEN was in close quarters between ROTHERHAM and SHASTA LAND at midstretch. SHASTA LAND was knocked off stride when ROTHERHAM bore out after entering the stretch and lost his chance. STARFERENCE was close up on the outside in the early running and, coming fast through the stretch, wore down SARAGON to get to the front near the end. SARAGON, fractious at the post, was off well and, getting to the front in the stretch, held on well in the final drive. DROLE POLLY was never far. away and showed a good effort. LOUIE DEAR, wearing four bandages, went to the front early, opened up a good lead after shutting off SOCIETY TALK, but tired badly in the last eighth. SOCIETY TALK was racing well on the inside of LOUIE DEAR approaching the. -stretch turn when she was shut off and lost all chance. STUART PLAID had early speed, but tired. SAM GILMORE, closest to PLENTY GOLD in the early running, displayed unexpected finishing strength to catch the latter in the stretch and win going away. PLENTY GOLD went to the front early to open up on his opponents in the back stretch, but tired in the run home. AGGIE STAR broke rather slowly from an inside position and was in close quarters on the far turn, but finished fairly well. SUNNY BOB closed some ground in the stretch. EASTER SUN tired. ATCINES made a strong move around the far turn and then tired badly. EVIDENTLY received little help from his rider and was in close quarters around the far turn.
