J., to join the fourteen which Marshall Lilly has in training here. Jockey L. DuPre made his Maryland saddle I debut Friday. William Shewbridge and M. C. Shea, of Baltimore, leave Saturday morning for Curies Neck, Va where they will serve as officials during the Deep Run Hunt Clubs racing. Sam Rice, former star outfielder of the Washington and Cleveland American League clubs, was a clubhouse visitor. James V. Stewart vanned the four horses he wintered at Elkton, and the one horse he had at Timonium up to Havre de Grace Friday. Mrs. Silas B. Masons Head Play, one of the present seasons outstanding handicap horses, is said to be coming East for the purpose of participating in the ,500 Philadelphia Handicap on April 27, at Havre de Grace. Trainer J. T. Taylor has the 1933 Preakness winner in grand shape, and he should prove a worthy opponent for A. G. Vanderbilts Discovery and others slated to perform in the closing feature of the Harford Agricultural and Breeders Associations closing stake. Marshall Cassidy, steward here, who fills a similar role on New York tracks, advises horsemen who intend to race over Metropolitan tracks to file license applications at once with the license committee of The New York Jockey Club. Word came from New York today that Sammy Renick, who is here riding for A. G. Vanderbilt; Joe OMalley, who is riding free-lance, and Toney Pascuma, had their licenses tabled in New York. The New York Jockey Club also- tabled the licenses of the following trainers: Fred Kraft, Willie Traverse, Raymond Coon, C. Hyde Smith, Charles Cafarelli, Matt Colford, Charles Miller, Willie Robinson, Charlie Grande and Cnarles Louie.
