BIEN FAIT AT HIS BEST Makes Auspicious 1935 Debut in the Tivoli Theater Purse. Heavy Dust Storm Makes Conditions Unpleasant at Arlington Downs Weather Is Very Sultry. ARLINGTON, Texas, April 5. Bien Fait, sterling three-year-old of last season, made his 1935 debut in auspicious fashion when he was a handy winner of the Tivoli Theater Purse, fifth and main attraction at Arlington Downs this afternoon. The four-year-old Bubbling Over horse, which races for W. C. Stroube, Corsicana sportsman, reached the finish of the Waggoner course sprint a little more than a length before the Tranquility Farms Rock X., which led Mrs. R. T. Flippens Chinese Empress by four lengths. Martin Barton saved fourth from Wise Anne, Rubio, Civil War and Royal Blunder, which finished in the order named. A heavy dust storm that occurred shortly before the fourth race made conditions slightly unpleasant and the weather was very sultry. WALLACE SADDLES WINNER. W. M. Wallace saddled another winner for the Three Ds Stock Farm Stable .when Bonnie Dream led Phyllis R., Daisykan and nine other maiden two-year-olds, including the well-backed Chilnore, to the finish of the half mile dash that opened the program. Well ridden by Paul Keester arid driven into the lead on the far turn, the winner, a homebred daughter of Kilkerry and Day Dream II., drew steadily away from Phyllis R. and. after attaining a clear advantage, reached the end half a length ahead of the latter, which was three lengths in the van of Daisykan. The latter, forced to lose ground while racing forward, was carried wide entering the stretch and tired in the last stages. After beginning slowly, Chilnore failed to improve his position, being well beaten at the end. B. Hernandez provided a disappointing favorite when Grattan, an 8 to 5 choice, gave way to Mrs. R. M. Chastains As Always in the final sixteenth of the Waggoner course sprint, that served as the second race. Preferred was third. Forced to work their way forward while Carbines Comet and Alamae were showing the way, the winner and runner-up reached contention entering the stretch and, after Grattan had forged to the front, As Always charged by him to be slightly more thah a length in the van at the end. Half of a length separated Grattan and Preferred, with the latter racing on the outside of his field the -greater part of the sprint. CHAIN CONSISTENT. The consistent Chain chalked up his first victory for the San Antonio-owned Apache Stable, when he got up to beat Captain Red by a nose at the end of the Waggoner course sprint, which served as the third race. Full Tilt was third, a nose before Kyso, which beat Erebus a nose for fourth laurels. The latter, slight favorite over the winner, closed fast during the run through the stretch after being outrun for three-eighths. Although forced to go wide while racing forward, Chain was lucky to escape the early crowding which slightly marred the race. Only a head back of the pace making Captain Red, an eighth from the finish, Chain proved the gamer, gaining his narrow triumph right at the end. Flashing Thru, for which there was strong support, quit badly after offering a bold bid entering the stretch. Nights End made good at his first asking under C. R. Allens colors and provided a popular score when he led Doris B., Racketeer and eight others to the finish of the fourth race. After racing Vicki into submission, the four-year-old Bunting gelding, which was ridden by Hilton Dabson, drew away to a clear lead, reaching the finish three lengths before Doris B., which was a length before Racketeer.
