GOLDEN TIP, well up throughout, came to the outside of the leaders entering the stretch and was going away at the end. BUNTINGON, nicely rated, enjoyed a good lead in the stretch, but was not good enough and had to be hard ridden to outlast LEPIDUS. The latter, fractious at the post, started well and was going fastest of all at the end. CHEKA appeared sore going to the post, showed the most speed to the final eighth, but gave way rapidly thereafter. INSTEAD came wide in the stretch and was going well when straightened. MISS CERTIFICATE broke slowly, raced wide on the far turn and bore out entering the stretch. The others were never prominent. Overweight Miss Certificate, 1 pound ;" Explorer, 1 ; Edna Shipp, 3. OUR PRIDE raced TOLLIE YOUNG into defeat, opened up a good lead entering the stretch, but had to withstand a drive to outfinish the fast-closing VERDANT SON. The latter worked his way up gradually on the outside, raced wide in the stretch and was getting to the winner at the end. TOLLIE YOUNG showed good speed and hung on well in the stretch. MORTIME raced evenly. PRIDIE failed to respond to punishment. CLOSING EVENT raced MY SYLVIA into defeat while losing ground, came to the outside in the stretch -when clear, but had to be hard urged to stall off MORING. The latter, always a contender, was getting to the winner in the last thirty yards. THIPDAR held on well and outgamed RAGTOWN BELLE, the latter worked her way up on the outside and came extremely wide entering the stretch. MY SYLVIA tired. GEORGE K. made up ground. BONNIE CAP raced wide all the way and could not improve her position. PRICELESS MISS trade a game effort within the final eighth and gave way suddenly in the final sixteenth. EARTH SHAKER took a good lead when LAMP BLACK bore out entering the stretch, but was no match for the winner. BRILLIANT DUKE, outpaced early, came fast in the last three-sixteenths. BLESSEFIELD, shuffled back on the run through the back stretch, came to the outside of the leaders in the stretch, and outgamed WIRT G. BOWMAN. The latter, under steadying restraint for three-quarters, went to the front entering the stretch, and held on well. LEMON saved much ground throughout, tiring fast in the last seventy yards. WAR PLANE, well rated, followed the leaders handily, came to the outside entering the stretch, and outfinished DOUBLE DARE. The latter met early interference when DON DAYTON came over at the start recovered quickly and, nicely handled when going to the front after passing the half mile post, held on with rare courage. COME ON, an early trailer, came to the outside in the final three-eighths, and failed to gain m the closing strides. CAPTAIN DANGER broke well after being fractious at the post, held a contendinc position, but quit. COMSTOCKERY failed to improve his position. NED O. quit.
