MARIE JEAN, on the inside throughout, improved her position fast after reaching the stretch and finished well under strong handling. JESSIE DEAR, away slowly and forced to race wide throughout, came with a rush in the final quarter. SUNCIRCLE BLAZE also lost ground and showed a good effort. JOHN MARCUM was placed on the outside at the start, crossed over sharply at the far turn and tired in the stretch. DOUBLE DATE began slowly. WANOAH quit. LYNVETE tired. BICHLORIDE, far back in the early part, made up ground thereafter. INFINITATE, inclined to bear over, came with a rush at the end. POT AU BROOMS pulled up lame. STEALINGAWAY had no mishaps. The latter, in close quarters soon after, the start and slow to respond "to strong urging, went to the inside in the final eighth and, finishing strongly, was wearing down the winner nearing the end. BARBARA A. had speed from the start, but tired, badly, in the final eighth. LIZ F. could not improve her position. SOUTHERN WAY raced wide and did not appear to like the going. GEO. GABLE quit. MR. ELWAWA, shaken up repeatedly in the early stages, came through on the inside in the stretch and, withstanding strong pressure gamely, was wearing down the winner nearing the finish. HECLA, a strong factor from the start, saved ground to the stretch! where, he swerved out slightly when tiring. PROJECTILE was behind horses in the stretch and might have been stronger factor had he been able to get through. SAFE AND SOUND was outrun.
