GRANDMAS BOY, away fast, was outrun early, saved ground after five-sixteenths and finished strongly. AIRY HEIRESS improved her position steadily and closed with a rush. WILLOW WOOD showed little. FREELAND, well up from the" start, tired in the last eighth and pulled up sore. EASY, outrun for five-eighths, moved up thereafter. ZORANA had no mishaps. HOKUAO, well handled and under good urging from the start, gave way to BLESSED EVENT after five-sixteenths, came through the field for the drive and, impeded by RIP VAN WINKLE in the last sixteenth, responded fast when clear and won drawing away. RIP VAN WINKLE moved up fast after five-eighths, impeded the winner in the stretch and tired in the last stages. GETALONG forced the pace under good urging, lost ground after a half mile, but held on well. BLESSED EVENT, used up reaching the lead, was unable to draw clear under pressure and tired fast in the last eighth. BOLD LOVER had a rough trip. WACOCHE showed little. INDIAN SALUTE was outrun.
