BLANDFORD, NOTED SIRE, DIES Special Cablegram. LONDON, England, April 27. Blandford, Englands leading sire, is dead. The sire of three Epsom Derby winners, Trigo in 1929, Blenheim in 1930, and Windsor Lad in 1934, succumbed to pneumonia. Last season Bland-ford set an English record for winnings, his progeny earning more than 50,000 in first money, surpassing Stockwells record, which had stood for seventy years. Blandford was an Irish-bred son of Swynford Blanche. He was foaled at the National Stud at Tully, County Kildare, in 1919.
