The fifth event attracted the best field of the afternoon and named the Sherbrooke brought six to the start. Whitharral, racing in the vel-low and purple silks of Rando and Thriffley, led to the finish in handy fashion. O. Viaus Magna Mater, with W. G. Townsends Red Label, winner of her last two, raced in third place, the same distance back and four lengths before Last Stand. Showman and Protractor made up the balance of the field and finished in the order named.
