1 HAMILTON, ONT., NOTES i . $ Dublin Taylor arrived from Omaha, Nebr., where he has been riding in good form and augmented the local riding colony. A. J. Abel sent word from Detroit that he would likely have to postpone the shipment of his stable to Hamilton. It was learned that Marmion and St. Moritz, stellar members of his stable, are not in their best condition at present. Jockeys Linberg Mann, R. Watson, G. Watson and N. Foden resumed riding after passing up the meeting at Dufferin Park. J. B. Jewell, who was called away suddenly to Lexington, Ky., when he received word of his fathers illness, returned from that point Monday. According to track superintendent "Pat" Maloney of the Hamilton Jockey Club, the horse colony concentrated at this course is the largest ever to be accommodated in the history of the local association. There are seventeen more racers on hand than at any other time. According to J. J. Farrell, clerk of the scales, thirty-five riders are registered to perform during the present meeting, and all hold licenses with the I. C. R. A. J. B. Miller, who was granted stalls for Standout and Raffles Problem, two members of his stable, reached here from Detroit. They are in charge of C. Graves. Jockey J. P. Wagner joined the local riding colony. He is affiliated with W. J. Wilkinson. W. H. May, nephew of "Bud" May, arrived from his home in Lexington, Ky., and will be the guest of J. B. Jewell for the remainder of the meeting here. J. Bosley, Jr.. has taken over the racers Grainger and Galyarrow for H. R. Bain. J. H. Madigin, president of the Niagara Racing Association, arrived to witness the inaugural of the Hamilton Jockey Club meeting. Dave Hum, former rider, who now races a small string, arrived from Omaha, Nebr.
