BALISITE began quickly, lacked speed, reached contention in the stretch, but faltered near the end. VICTORY MISS, slow to commence was taken to the inside after an eighth, continued well, but could not improve her position. HASTY HANNA quit. LADY THIRTEEN, much the best, raced LARRX M. into defeat, then drew out to win cantering. The latter offered strong contention for a half mile, then weakened, but was easily best of the others. SWEET GUINEA, away slowly, closed an immense gap in a winning performance. SWEET SUSAN improved her position steadily, but was no threat. BOMBASTIC, on the inside throughout, closed gamely in an improved effort MIDLANDA, allowed to race extremely wide, went well under weak handling. NOVETTE was bumped at the start and was outrun thereafter. BEVERLY JEAN went well for a half mile. MISS SUNSET was away poorly. Scratched — Doncinea, lOo. The latter gained steadily under strong riding, offered strong contention and was disposing of BILLIES ORPHAN when forced to ease when the winner took command. BILLIES ORPHAN had fine speed from the start, shook off ROLANDA. then held on with good courage while submitting, but was in close quarters when the winner forced CRESTONIAN over. ANGON BRIDGE, slow to get going, closed resolutely. ROLANDA quit. HILDRUM went well for a half mile. MINNIE BELLE could not keep up. EARL BAKER was far back throughout. BEN MACHREE went well under strong riding. JUMP OFF weakened after racing prominently to the stretch. SWIFT EXPRESS could not keep up. LE CONDOR went well for a half mile, then tired. OUR SAMMY rushed up to the leaders approaching the stretch, then raced evenly in a good effort. JUDGE BARKLEY, forced back sharply after the start, gained steadily thereafter, but was caught in close quarters near the end. PRINCE FLUZ had no excuse. BEAU DIS raced well for three quarters.
