SUN TEATIME, away fast and taken in hand while holding a forward position, raced to the front when HAPPY INVER began to tire and, hard ridden through the stretch, held SQUEEZE OUT safe. The latter moved up steadily on the outside and closed with good energy. CATHOP dropped back early, began moving up leaving the back stretch, saved ground and held on willingly. HAPPY INVER displayed good speed, but faltered in the last quarter. CABOUSE, away slowly and outrun for three-quarters, closed a big gap. VEE EIGHT was never prominent. The others were outrun. ARGOAN, hustled to the front in the opening strides, drew clear early and, rated under slight restraint, responded gamely in the stretch and outlasted STUMPTOWN. The latter, in near pursuit of the winner from the beginnine, came gamely under punishment and just missed. AUREATE was prominently placed throughout and held on~gamely. JOY FLAG finished gamely. IRISH HERO made up ground. LT. GREENOCK, well placed in the first quarter, dropped back thereafter. BLIND TALK was never prominent. ONUS was never prominent. STEP AWAY had speed from the start, surrendered the command to MIXED PARTY, but moved up stoutly when called upon and took command inside the last eighth to draw out steadily in the last sixteenth. MIXED PARTY showed good speed, drew clear reaching the stretch, but was unable to keep pace at the end. BENARES moved up fast on the outside in the last five-sixteenths, but was unable to improve his position under punishment in the stretch. OUR SALLIE showed eood speed. EDDIE WRACK moved up steadily approaching the half mile post, worked his way up gradually thereafter and closed with good energy. WAYWARD SON, steadied along back of the pace, held on well through the stretch. GIFTED LADY, in closest pursuit of the early pace, faltered in the last five-sixteenths. BOUNDING COUNT, away slowly, moved up on the inside down the back stretch, was caught in a jam nearing the far turn and was unable to make up ground thereafter. Overweight — Mettle, 3 pounds. ZULU LAD had early speed, disposed of REVONAH and, rated along in front, held on well. GENERAL A., never far from the pace, responded gamely in the last quarter, but was unable to reach the leaders. REVONAH had good speed, but was unable to keep up. HOOPS closed a big gap. BIG SHOW also closed a big gap. "MILD was unable to enter into contention.
