I , t x [ , r , t , x c I j , i 1 RICH ARLINGTON FUTURITY 1 Gross Value of Much Coveted Event May Reach as High as 6,000. • Calumet Farm of Warren Wright Leading Nominator — All Most Important Stables of Country Represented. • A total of 1,230 is in the purse for the fourth running of the Arlington Futurity, final important event of the thirty-day Arlington Park meeting starting Monday, and each starter will swell this imposing sum to the tune of ,000. With fifteen starters, this dash of six furlongs, scheduled for Saturday, August 3, will have a gross value of 6,230. Final payment of 0 was made for 154 of the 452 original nominees and as all the remaining eligibles include all the promising two-year-olds a large field is expected. The three previous runnings of the Futurity were*" won by Ladysman, Far Star and Tqr Nancy, all first class juveniles, and they scored their triumphs at the expense of other formidable two-year-olds. The Calumet Farm of Warren Wright Chicago sportsman, whose Hadagal finished second to Far Star, is the leading nominator, having nine of its two-year-olds still eligible for the Futurity, including Teddy Boy. high est priced yearling of last years sales, foa which was paid 1,500. Another of th™ promising Calumet candidates is Count Morse, a son of Reigh Count and Nellie Morse and a half brother to Nellie Flag. E. R. Bradley and John J. Coughlin are next on the list of nominators with eight eligibles each. The latter has made sure all his better youngsters are in the Futurity, as last year he missed an excellent chance of having a first class representative in the event in Advantage. Other noted stables and owners with Futurity candidates are Audley Farm, Belair Stud, Bomar Stable, Brookmeade Stable, F. A. Burton, Mrs. Roy Carruthers, Norman Church, Coldstream Stud, Parker Corning, Dixiana, Marshall Field, Greentree Stable, Hal Price Headley, Mrs. John Hertz, John E. Hughes, Willis Sharpe Kilmer. Llangollen Stable, Mrs. Silas Mason. Milky Way Farms, H. C. Phipps, Shandon Farm, Morton L. Schwartz, George D. Widener, Joseph E. Widener, Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, Wheat-ley Stable, C. V. Whitney and Thomas C. Worden. Among the better known juveniles already developed in the event are Grand Slam, Delphinium, Deliberator, Coldstream, Galsac, Beauflower, White Cockade, Bright Light, Postage Due, Speed, Valevictorian and Savings.
